RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav has vacated his official bungalow, prompting the BJP to allege that several items including sofas, water taps, hand basins, air conditioners, lights, and beds have been stolen from the government residence.
After Tejaswi’s departure, the BJP filed a complaint claiming these items went missing. In response, the RJD has challenged the BJP to provide proof of their allegations.
Recently, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chowdhury moved into the official bungalow previously occupied by Tejaswi Yadav. Following this shift, the BJP raised concerns about the alleged theft.
Samrat Chowdhury’s private secretary, Nadathighan Prasad, stated, “We want to highlight that items have been looted from the Deputy Chief Minister’s official residence. When Sushil Modi vacated the premises, he left behind two hydraulic beds and guest sofas. Now, all these are missing. Similarly, fewer than 20 split air conditioners remain, and we find no chairs or computers in the operating room. The kitchen lacks a fridge or freezer, and even the wall lights have been removed.”
In response, the RJD plans to publicly address the allegations by presenting data from the Bihar building construction department. RJD National Spokesperson Shakti Yadav said, “Tejaswi Yadav vacated 5 Deshratna Marg in Bengaluru. We possess all the evidence. Our team, including media personnel, recorded videos inside the house. We challenge the BJP to continue their list of missing items. If they cannot provide this list, we demand an apology.”
BJP MP and Union Minister Giriraj Singh has also entered the debate, criticizing RJD leaders and calling for a thorough investigation into the theft allegations.
Danish Iqbal, media in charge of Bihar BJP, remarked after inspecting the official bungalow, “This residence was handed over to Samrat Chowdhury, who was supposed to shift before Navratri. However, we find no wash basins, water pipes, or furniture inside. The hydraulic beds are gone, and items from the gym are missing. Even the fundus lights have been removed.”
