A heartbreaking incident occurred this morning at the Singapore Road Railway Station in Rayagada District, where a mother and her 4-year-old daughter sustained severe injuries after falling from a moving train. Both Ratika Chandna and her daughter, Hatheena, have suffered amputations and are in critical condition.
Chaitanya Chandna, a resident of Titilagarh in Balangir district, had taken his wife and child to Jinjilibadi for a Dasah ceremony. The accident happened as they were returning this morning. While boarding the train at Singapore Road railway station, Ratika and Hatheena suddenly fell from the moving train.
In the accident, Ratika lost both hands and one leg, while her left leg suffered a fracture. Hatheena had her right hand and leg amputated. Emergency responders quickly rescued both mother and daughter and initially admitted them to Rayagada District General Hospital. After receiving initial treatment, they were transferred to Brahampur Medical Center for further care.
