Tribal Feud Turns Deadly in Pakistan After Terrorist Attack on Passenger Van

Pakistan, India’s neighbour, faces turmoil following recent terror attacks. The communal violence, which began after the attacks, has claimed 37 lives in the last 24 hours and injured over 30 people.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district, bordering Afghanistan, violence erupted between the Alizai and Bagan tribal groups after terrorists attacked a passenger van on Thursday, killing 47 people. Tribal groups have since engaged in violent clashes, using automatic weapons against each other.

The violence has devastated the region, with houses and shops targeted, forcing many villagers to flee for safety. Authorities, including the police and administration, are working to restore peace. A senior official reported that 37 people have died so far, and the death toll is expected to rise.

In response to the escalating situation, officials have closed all educational institutions in the district. Mohammad Hayat Hasan, President of the Private Education Network, confirmed the decision.

A video of the violence has emerged, showing the bodies of the victims, while the police reported detaining six women. However, limited communication has restricted further updates on the arrests.
