A tragic accident cut short a group’s planned visit to Puri. While travelling from Kayath Pala village, seven sightseeing enthusiasts in an auto faced a severe collision when a truck hit them from behind near Tangi Chandeshwar on NH-16 in Puri district. The impact killed one of the hobbyists and injured three others, including the driver.
The accident left the auto driver critically injured, prompting his immediate transfer to Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment. The remaining injured were admitted to Tangi Hospital.
Following the collision, the truck driver fled the scene. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
