A tragic road accident in Uttarakhand has resulted in the deaths of around 30 people, including members of a bridal party. A bus carrying the bride and groom lost control and plunged 2000 feet into a ditch in Paudi district.
The bus was traveling from the Lal Wang area near Haridwar to Birunkhal village for a wedding ceremony on Friday night. It crashed just two kilometers from its destination while navigating a steep hill on Ghat Road. Approximately 50 to 55 people were on board.
Rescue teams quickly transported the injured to hospitals, with many in critical condition, raising fears that the death toll may rise. Uttarakhand Speaker Ritu Khaduri arrived at the scene and visited the injured in the hospital.
Authorities suspect that negligence on the part of the bus driver may have caused the accident. The police have launched an investigation to uncover the details and have begun identifying the deceased to inform their families.
