Following Mahayuti’s resounding victory, speculation grows about who will take the Chief Minister’s seat. Devendra Fadnavis, who led the BJP to victory, Eknath Shinde, the face of Mahayuti, or Ajit Pawar, NCP’s key ally—Maharashtra awaits the final decision.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde may resign today, adding to the suspense. Devendra Fadnavis appears to be the frontrunner in the race for the top position. Reports suggest that Ajit Pawar’s NCP has extended its support to Fadnavis, while Eknath Shinde is pushing for another term as CM.
Amid these developments, Fadnavis travelled to Delhi yesterday. He is expected to meet BJP’s top leaders to discuss government formation. As talks intensify, all eyes are on Mahayuti’s decision regarding the CM post.
In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP secured 133 seats, just 12 short of the majority. Shiv Sena claimed 57 seats, while NCP won 41, further solidifying Mahayuti’s dominance.
