Security Forces Neutralize three Terrorists in J&K’s Kulgam District

On Tuesday, an encounter between security forces and three terrorists unfolded in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam, resulting in the elimination of the militants. The operation commenced following intelligence reports indicating the presence of terrorists in the Redwani area of Kulgam. Initially intended as a cordon and search mission, the operation evolved into a prolonged encounter lasting until the following day.

The identities of the deceased terrorists remained undisclosed, pending formal identification and retrieval of their bodies.

Earlier, on May 1, security forces expanded their search efforts to Kathua district after a village defence guard (VDG) lost his life in a confrontation with terrorists on April 28. This escalation came in response to reports of terrorist activity in the region, particularly in the remote Panara village situated within the Chochru Gala heights.

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Additional Director General of Police (Jammu zone) Anand Jain had remarked on April 29 that two distinct groups of terrorists had infiltrated the area from across the border, amplifying concerns over security threats in the region.
