Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is scheduled to visit Kolkata on January 6, where he will play a pivotal role in inaugurating a significant government office building complex. The complex, named ‘Patsan Bhavan,’ is poised to become the central hub for key entities falling under his ministry, including the Jute Commissioner’s office, the Jute Corporation of India, and the National Jute Board.
Goyal, who also holds important portfolios in consumer affairs, food and public distribution, and textiles, will personally inaugurate ‘Patsan Bhavan.’ This move underlines the strategic importance of the building, which will serve as the nerve center for crucial operations within the jute industry.
Post the inauguration ceremony, Minister Goyal is scheduled to engage in substantial meetings with representatives from both jute mills and the Tea Board. This interaction emphasizes the government’s commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration within these industries. The discussions are anticipated to cover a range of topics, reflecting the multifaceted responsibilities that Goyal shoulders in his role as the Union Commerce and Industry Minister. The visit to Kolkata holds significance not only for the inauguration of a key government complex but also for the minister’s direct engagement with stakeholders in sectors vital to the nation’s economic landscape.
