A fire broke out in the Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Vivek Express near Ramvila in Bhadrak. Quick action by the railway staff brought the fire under control, and thankfully, no one was harmed.
The express train, travelling from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari, was spotted emitting smoke from one of its compartments near Queen’s Valley by a gatekeeper. He immediately alerted the station master, who in turn informed the train’s pilot. The train was stopped near Ramvila, and the railway staff managed to extinguish the fire.
Authorities reported that the fire was caused by brake binding. After the fire was extinguished, the train departed 20 minutes later than scheduled.
