The much-awaited Immigrant Indian Conference commenced today at Bhubaneswar’s Janata Maidan in the presence of Union Ministers S. Jaishankar, Mansukh Mandaviya, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the conference tomorrow, with his arrival in Bhubaneswar scheduled for this evening.
The conference includes discussions on India’s future development, with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw engaging with immigrants to outline the vision for India 2047. Plenary sessions are planned throughout the event, featuring conversations between eminent personalities and attendees. On the final day, Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will lead a session highlighting India’s rich heritage.
Adding vibrancy to the conference, cultural programs are scheduled every evening. More than 70 countries are represented at the event, with native immigrants gathering to celebrate and reconnect with India.
Participants will also embark on a heritage tour, visiting 21 prominent tourist attractions across Jajpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Puri. They will travel in double-decker buses, enjoying Odisha’s scenic and cultural treasures.
The conference aims to strengthen the bond with the Indian diaspora while showcasing Odisha’s art, culture, and tourism potential to a global audience.
