Election Commission officials inspected Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s bag during his election campaign in Amaravati, Maharashtra. The inspection occurred when Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter landed in Amaravati, with officials arriving on-site to carry out the check. Rahul Gandhi, present at the location, was seen walking away and chatting with party workers as the inspection took place, a moment captured on video.
This development follows a similar inspection yesterday when officials checked State Minister Amit Shah’s helicopter and luggage. The Election Commission has intensified these checks to prevent politicians from influencing voters with money or other inducements during campaigns.
Officials also recently inspected Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray’s helicopter, raising questions about whether Prime Minister Modi and State Minister Amit Shah undergo similar inspections. Checks have been extended to leaders travelling to election-bound states like Jharkhand and Maharashtra. Politicians including Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar have also undergone inspections during this drive.
