Uncertainty continues over the formation of the government after Mahayuti’s landslide victory in the Maharashtra assembly elections. Meanwhile, another twist has been found. An urgent meeting of the Mahayuti Alliance was supposed to be held today regarding the allocation of ministerial posts, but Eknath Sinde has already fled to the village.
Top leaders of the three parties, BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena’s Eknath Sinde and NCP’s Ajit Pawar returned to Mumbai yesterday after meeting Amit Shah and JP Nadda in Delhi. There was a discussion about the allocation of the posts of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
An urgent meeting of the cabinet was to be held today in Mumbai regarding the allocation of ministerial posts. But before this, Eknath Sinde suddenly fled to his village in Satara district. As a result, the Mahayuti meeting has been cancelled.
In the previous government, Eknath Sinde was the Chief Minister while Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were the Deputy Chief Ministers. But since the BJP won more seats in the current election, there is talk of Fadnavis becoming the Chief Minister. But so far no official announcement has been made by the party on behalf of the Chief Minister.
However, in the 288-member assembly elections of Maharashtra, the Mahayuti party won 230 seats. In this, BJP alone has won 132 seats, while Shiv Sena has won 57 and NCP has won 41.
