
The Odisha government has announced its decision to provide a monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000 to recipients of the Padma awards hailing from the state. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik disclosed this initiative on Wednesday, emphasizing the significance of Padma Awards as among India’s highest civilian honors. He highlighted that these awards are bestowed upon individuals who have significantly contributed to the nation across various domains. According to the Chief Minister, Padma awardees originating from Odisha have notably elevated the state’s culture and heritage, warranting acknowledgment for their remarkable accomplishments.
Moreover, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik indicated that the honorarium will commence from April of the current year, underscoring the government’s commitment to recognizing and supporting exceptional achievers.
