A yoga teacher who taught yoga for the well-being of body and mind died, that too due to a heart attack. The deceased is Sharath Jois, grandson of yoga legend Krishna Pattabhi Jois, a well-known Ashtanga yoga instructor from Virginia, USA. He died at the age of 53.
The New York Times reported that he died of a heart attack. According to reports, Sarath Joyce went on a visit to the University of Virginia in the US. Meanwhile, he suffered a heart attack while walking to the university.
Even though he was admitted to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead there. Sharath’s sister explained about his death. Sharath’s sister Sharmila Mahesh confirmed the death with a sad post on Instagram. Similarly, his yoga centre ‘Sharath Yoga Kondra’ has also posted information.
According to the yoga center, now Sharath’s family is in America. His mortal remains will be brought to his birthplace in Mysore, Karnataka. There the end will be accomplished.
According to the New York Times, Joyce became famous in America for teaching yoga. He had an event in San Antonio, Texas this month. But he died before that. He has many disciples in India and around the world. He learned the art of Ashtanga yoga from his grandfather Krishna Pattabhi.
After the death of Krishna Pattabi in 2009, Sharath Jois became his successor and taught Ashtanga yoga to thousands of people.
