The CBI has intensified its probe into Senior IAS officer Bishnupad Sethi concerning the Bridge and Roof India Company bribery case. The agency has requested a detailed list of drivers who served under Mr. Sethi, including their names, addresses, and mobile numbers. Officials believe this information is critical to the investigation.
CBI DCP Ajit Kumar Pandey emailed the state government, urging Chief Secretary Bishnupad Sethi to issue directives for cooperation. The CBI has summoned Mr. Sethi’s drivers to the Bhubaneswar office for questioning.
On December 7, the CBI registered an FIR and arrested Chanchal Mukherjee, General Manager of Bridge and Roof India Company, along with Satya Maharana and his father Manmohan Maharana of Penta A Store Pvt Ltd in Naples. Preliminary findings suggest that Mr Sethi may have been indirectly involved in financial dealings with the accused. The requested information aims to substantiate these claims.
Efforts to contact Mr. Sethi for his response have been unsuccessful so far. This development has sparked significant discussion surrounding his alleged involvement in the case.
