Viral Photos of Boy Worshiped as Lord Anant Madhav Lead to Police Complaint in Bhubaneswar

A boy, dressed in a pant-shirt, has been titled Lord Anant Madhav in an incident that has sparked controversy in Bhubaneswar’s Khadgiri area. The boy, reportedly the son of speaker Kashinath Mishra, was seen sitting on a bench with flower garlands around his neck and tusi placed under his feet. Photos of this ritual have gone viral on social media, causing public outrage.

Workers from the State Samajwadi Maha Sangh have filed a formal complaint at the Bharatpur police station, demanding an investigation into the incident. The viral images show the boy being worshipped, which they claim is inappropriate, given that tusi is traditionally placed at the feet of Lord Jagannath and used as a symbol of reverence.

The complaint also highlights concerns about the activities happening at Kashinath Mishra’s Khadgiri Ashram, which has been previously accused of illegal practices. Both Mishra and the police have yet to comment on the matter.

Sagar Sundar Das, a member of the State Samajseva Maha Sangh, condemned the act, emphasizing that tusi, which is reserved for Lord Jagannath, should not be placed under the feet of a human. He also demanded a thorough investigation into the ashram’s alleged unethical activities.
