Starting today, Bhubaneswar’s Janata Maidan will host the much-anticipated Immigrant Indian Conference, a three-day event aimed at fostering connections with the global Indian diaspora. The venue is all set to welcome immigrants from over 70 countries for this grand gathering.
The conference begins with a youth-focused session, featuring addresses by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, along with the Union Ministers for External Affairs and Youth Affairs. This opening event aims to inspire young attendees and highlight opportunities for collaboration with Odisha.
Tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the conference. Following the inauguration, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will engage with the participants to discuss India’s developmental roadmap for 2047, emphasizing the critical role of the diaspora.
The event will also feature plenary sessions where prominent personalities from various fields will interact with the attendees. On the final day, Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will lead a session focusing on India’s cultural heritage.
Adding to the charm of the conference, cultural programs will be held every evening, showcasing India’s rich traditions. The visiting immigrants will also embark on a heritage tour, exploring 21 iconic tourist destinations in Jajpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Puri aboard double-decker buses.
The conference is expected to highlight Odisha’s potential as a hub for investment, while also offering a platform to strengthen ties with Indians worldwide.
